This allows to obtain a thick and velvet-like puree, characterized by its bright red colour, its taste of fresh tomato, lightly spicy.

For its line “Petti – Il pomodoro al centro” Petti selects only the tomatoes harvested exclusively from crops grown in the Val di Cornia, Grosseto, Maremma and the countryside around Siena and Pisa, primarily based on integrated and organic farming methods. The Tuscan tomato abounds in vitamins, mineral salts and lycopene thanks to the proximity to the sea of the crops in this area, and to the irrigation water originating from the deep underground sources of the Artesian wells. Certified with Agriqualità: it is the first and only tomato preserved products’ line in the large-scale retail channel to receive this certification brand for the whole production chain, released by Regione Toscana, a further warranty for the consumers on the traceability of the products.
Low temperature process
The signature flavour of the line “Petti - Il pomodoro al centro” is ensured by the exclusive low temperature processing method, which allows to preserve intact the bright red colour and the taste of freshly harvested tomatoes. This processing metod confers an authentic and sweet taste, typical of the homemade ones, to the Petti preserves, though being an industrial product.

Exclusively for the tomato preserves’ category, Petti is using Presal® protected iodized salt for all its products. Presal® is patented for preserving its healthy properties and its iodine quantity while cooking. The consumption of iodized salt is highly recommended by the Italian Ministry of Health for the prevention of diseases caused by iodine deficiency.
